A few tips: 1- At 1:27 and 1:31 , instead of this you can just stand on the jumping box by hitting square right before landing on it. That way the character won't jump. And after that just do a long jump (hold O and then jump with X) and brake the crates that way. It will be much safer than this. 2- The section at 3:10 is the hardest part of this level. So here is what I recommend you to save time. After reaching the checkpoint box, instead of doing all the level over and over again, just break the boxes between 1:17 - 1:22 . Then, just brake less boxes as possible and just speedrun to 3:10 part. Then just get better and eventually you will get it. After you get it, just move backwards and brake all the boxes you skipped. (Be smart about what boxes to break when going back). That way you can save some time in this level. Do the hard part first!

wow so I really was supposed to jump onto the chariot lol. I stumbled across this cave, then had a brilliant idea to see if I could ride the chariot all the way down the lava. I jumped on the chariot and immediately died lol. So I looked up the guide and found this video only to realize my idea was right, I just had a bad jump lol.

Thanks a lot! Couldn't get passed 1st phase. Managed to down him in his second phase by putting him into choc quickly thanks to Tifa's lvl 2 limit break. 6 tries after trying your way. I'm mad proud of myself!

Holy Crap! This was the first real challenge of the game for me. I died 6 times but switching to a straight sword really helped me overcome the speed difference. We actually double KO'd each other. Didn't even know that could happen lol. I jumped and hit him in his head for the kill shot and he picked me up at the same time in his ball of energy. I was so pissed I died with one hit left but then it gave me the remembrance right before the screen blacked out. lol

Thank you for this!! I was using a greatsword as well and got destroyed. Switch to a broadsword and finished him first try. It's a real shame this weapon got pushed so far into the game as it makes it hard to do a play through unless you trade with friends.

Congrats! That was an epic boss battle to watch I just reached Malenia earlier today, & I thought her skybomb flurry attacks were the 2nd phase, LoL. Heckin' butterfly wings, wowza! This guide was spectacularly well explained, & it'll certainly smooth out my experience. Still, I know there are many attempts ahead of me -- before vanquishing this mighty foe

Using the fire rod on the skeleton is the most nonsensical garbage. I wish I could be genuinely enjoying this game more, but LttP is by far the most irritating Zelda I've played. Zelda on NES, somehow, felt more intuitive and fun to me. Yes, I'm incredibly bitter because I had to look this up after walking around these woods for hours.

Perhaps I was just lucky but I've done it in the first attempt. I equipped Flame Drake Talisman +2, used Flame, Protect Me incantation (need 24 Faith) and wore Greatjar (found in Belurat Gaol). I needed 5 Hefty Cracked Pots. You should have 6 at this time. I can tell you where they are: 3 are in the same Belurat Gaol. Three other are at Scorched Ruins (next to start grace), South of Cerulean Coast (kill a troll throwing pots), and the last is in Lamenter's Gaol in the sane very area close to the Furnace Golem. GL

Rolling like crazy and staying to the side or behind the head is your best friend when up close

As a vintage Zelda fan, I appreciate these walkthroughs!I’ve learned quite a bit - wallsmash jumps, invincibility tricks, dealing with four wizrobes at once (with the cane) and a personal favorite thing I learned is the difference between a bombable wall and a wallsmash one, and more to the point - I NEVER knew that secret entrances had a hollow sound with the sword! Never! What a great thing to learn!

i really dont hate this boss like a lot of others do. i think its fun if you just learn the timings even though he runs away too much. the flame attack is bullshit tho

His size makes him intimidating but I've killed 3 others that were much easier then this one i didn't have an easy time even finding my way back here lol anyways it looks scary & feels counter intuitive but yeah you can just cheese him especially easy if you stsy really close & watch his moves try to stick close and just keep doing damage and dodge but most attacks will miss up in his face lol i tried long range combat and it wasn't very effective but the other 3 were in smaller rooms and this taught me the exploit. 😅😅
